Engineering aspirants must appear for the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) to be eligible to enrol in various engineering colleges across India. Since it is one of the most difficult entrance exams, it is easy to get preoccupied with studies and forget about equally important matters such as filling in the application form and downloading the admit card. The JEE Main admit card is one of the most important documents required on the day of the exam. If you forget to bring it to the examination centre, you just cannot give the exam. All your preparation would then go to waste. So if you are going to appear for JEE Main in 2020, here are the steps you need to follow to get your admit card.

As you must already know, there are two categories of JEE exams: Main and Advanced. There are different websites for each category. The admit card must be downloaded from the respective website. 

JEE Main 2020: How to Download Your Admit Card 

JEE Main will be held twice in 2020: in January and in April.

The admit cards for the January session will be available from December 6, 2019, and the admit cards for the April session will be available from March 16, 2020. 

You can download the admit card from the main site for each of the sessions.

Below are the steps you need to follow to download your admit card:

  1. First, visit jeemain.nic.in
  2. Click on “Download Admit Card.” 
  3. You will be directed to a page that has two options: “Through Application Number and Password” and “Through Application Number and Date of Birth.”
  4. Select your preference and enter your login details accordingly. 
  5. You will immediately gain access to your admit card, which you can then download. 
  6. Make sure you check for any errors or discrepancies. 

If you are unable to login (for whatever reason), then click on “I can’t access my account” to reset your password. 

Once you download your admit card, make sure it has all of the following details:

Personal Details 

  • Name 
  • Gender
  • Date of birth 
  • Category
  • Status of Person with Disability (if it applies to you)
  • Names of parents and/or guardians 
  • Passport-size photograph 
  • Email ID and mobile number 
  • Signature 

Exam-Related Details 

  • Name and address of the exam centre
  • Exam-center code 
  • Your state’s Code of Eligibility 
  • Application number
  • Roll number
  • Date and timing of the exam 
  • Course applied for 
  • Name and medium (of language) of your exam 
  • Exam-related instructions. 

You can follow the above checklist to ensure that you admit card contains all the important details regarding the exam.

After making sure that it has all the important details, take a printout of your admit card and keep it safe. Your admit card must be in good condition when you present it to your examiner. 

JEE Advanced 2020: How to Download Your Admit Card 

Those who clear JEE Main must appear for JEE Advanced to enter coveted engineering institutions like the IITs. 

The admit card for JEE Advanced 2020 will tentatively be available in the second week of May 2020, while the exam will be held on May 17, 2020. It is a good idea to periodically check their official website for more accurate updates. 

Below is a list of the steps you must follow to download the JEE Advanced 2020 admit card: 

  1. Visit the official website of JEE Advanced 2020: jeeadv.ac.in 
  2. Click on the link for admit card.  
  3. You will be directed to a page with the link “Candidate Portal,” where you will have to enter the following:
    • Your JEE Advanced 2020 registration number 
    • Date of birth 
    • Mobile number 
    • Email ID
  • Once you submit the above  information, your admit card will be displayed on the screen. 
  • Download it. 
  • Make sure you check for any errors or discrepancies. 

 

Here is a checklist of the information that needs to be on your admit card:

Personal Information 

  • Name 
  • Name of parents and/or guardians 
  • Gender
  • Date of birth 
  • Category 
  • Status of Person with Disability (if it applies to you)
  • Photograph of candidate 
  • Signature of candidate

  • Name and address of exam centre
  • Centre code 
  • Date and timing of your exam 
  • Registration details of JEE Advanced 2020
  • Signature of chairman 
  • Exam-related instructions

If your admit card has all of the above details, then print it out and keep it safe.
